UNO!

I have called UNO! more times than I could ever count since I started playing this classic when I was about 5 years old. Now, I also have my four  year old hoooked. A few weeks ago, to my extreme pleasure, I downloaded it from Xbox Live. Since then, I have been OBSESSED.

So obsessed in fact, that I am proud to say, I have finally beaten ZT at something. I have gotten all of the achievements before he could. It does not count that he probably earned about a thousand gamer points playing other games that week. But hey, who’s really keeping track? Xbox is (I am constantly scouring the leader boards) and I am. I am an UNO junkie and I will take you down!  Or at least try really hard.

Ok, trash talking to the side, this really is a lot of fun. Visually, the colors are fun and bright. There’s not much to say about graphics – it’s really just a bunch of cards. But they are bright and cheerful. Along with the usual trick cards, reverse, draw two, block and wild cards, they have created a free anniversary edition deck to add  to your standard edition with a new card that creates new twists. It’s the 35th anniversary card. When played, nothing else can be payed again until a 3 or 5 has been played. Then all the confetti falls like a big UNO! party.

You can play single, with the Xbox computer, partners, or go online to play with others or go a step up and play the ranked matches where you get your True Skill ranking.

Plus, recently announced, a new download for UNO! will be available on August 30th. I am not sure what it will be, but I love the fact they are sending down new stuff and whatever it is, I will download it. I am just hooked. So look for me the next time you play – I am sure I won’t be hard to find.
