Project Gotham Racing

Get your motor runnin’….ummm didn’t I start another review off like that for a racing game once, oh well nevermind! With this massive XBox review blowout I am finally ready to review Project Gotham Racing and I must say I am glad I waited. This was not one of my first picks when I purchased my XBox to be honest having DOA3 and Halo was enough for me. Then I decided to give it a go one day and have not gone back since.

Gotham is so much more than it’s predecessor Metropolis Street Racer. Gotham is like a blessing in disguise, a racing game that is actually fun to play…HARK…did he just say that??? A FUN RACING GAME??? Yes unlike most racing game Gotham is in fact enjoyable no matter how long you decide to race in circles, but why is that?

Well for starters this game is absolutely drop dead gorgeous. The amount of detail in this game is beyond anything I have ever seen. Real time reflections, car damage, weather effects, just to begin with and the list goes on and on. The massive amount of detail in this game makes it worthy of a purchase just for showing off the power of the XBox.

Next on the list, two words, custom soundtracks. This should be a feature in every game!! I love having my own music that I wanna listen to in a game. Especially a racing game, driving is my time so I want my music! The in game music is also a massive blast of rap, rock, techno, and dance music that will keep the game kicking.

Now if those two points were not enough I do have more, for instance. Gran Turismo has over 300 cars yes? Well stop and think about how many of them you would actually wanna race? Yeah I though so, well Gotham only boasts 29 cars, but ya know what? They are cars I wanna drive in a race such as the Ferrari F50 and the Porsche GT2. Real sports cars that are just as pretty to look at as they are fun to drive.

In the end this is the racing game to own this year. With a ton of play modes, mad multi-player, graphics to die for, and so many other features I don’t even need to mention. This game is by far one of the best titles available for the box this year, so do yourself a favor and buy it.
