Another Revelation at hand.
Capcom has been on a roll going back and bringing some of its classic games to the modern current gen systems. At this point and time it’s possible to play Remake, Zero, 4, 5, 6, 7, Rev 2 and Code Veronica on PS4. We’re still waiting with baited breath to hear any further news on the Resident Evil 2 remake announced a couple of years ago. Though for now, if players never got a chance to check out Revelations 1, look no further.
Action – Horror
Resident Evil Revelations stars Jill Valentine on a quest looking for her previous partner Chris Redfield. She discovers a potential lead and soon stumbles upon a huge ship out in the middle of the ocean. Of course in classic Resident Evil style we can expect jump scares, weird biohazard enemies, action, and suspense. It’s a good experience for those looking for a mix between the old and newer style of Resident Evil game. The story can get a little ridiculous and convoluted, but this isn’t anything different than the previous games have concocted.

How long to beat: 10+ hours
Visually on PS4 it looks good for a port. It appears to run at 60 FPS at least on the PS4 Pro, and in comparison to the original 3DS version it has a definite visual upgrade, though some textures can look a little low resolution at times. Control wise it feels a little loose, or perhaps too sensitive with aiming when shooting, but I did eventually get used to it. Otherwise playing Revelations on the PS4 brought back all the memories of my original time with it, for better or worse.
Nothing in this version will change players’ minds on the quality of the game coming to PS4. The chapters are broken down into episodes, each ending with cliffhangers. Flashback sequences lead to more intense action moments. When players are done with the campaign, they can either jump online into the fan favorite Raid mode and co-op missions with friends, or single player, adding even more hours of gameplay to the already 10 + hours it takes for the storyline.
The price is right
Really, for those that have already played Revelations, there isn’t any huge reason to run out and grab this again unless A. It’s never been played before B. Love to collect or purchase anything with Resident Evil in the title, or C. Just simply want to replay it again on the new consoles. There’s nothing really wrong with the game as far as coming over to the PS4, and mileage will vary on the repeated issues the game does have, like handheld design roots, scope, and limited animations. Though I will say, getting this for $19.99 is a solid deal, and I’ll be taking choice B in adding this to my collection as I’m a long time Resident Evil fan.
