Capcom has been enjoying our speculation over the recently released RE6 trailer, but today we have the actual details including character profiles and the new control scheme. We also have some slick high-res screenshots from the trailer for your viewing pleasure. Without hesitation, let’s get to the info.
For starters the game takes place in a fictitious city in China called Lanshiang in the year 2013. So we definitely know when and where it takes place, but who is in it? Well we have some quick bios direct from the source this morning below.

Character profiles
Leon S. Kennedy: Following the Raccoon City incident Leon was recruited as a US government agent by none other than Adam Benford, who would later become the President of the United States. Ever since the nightmare that was Raccoon City Leon has made it his life’s work to eradicate bioterrorism.
Helena Harper: Like Leon, she is also a government agent, but was in the process of transferring to the Secret Service to become one of the President’s personal bodyguards. In the announcement trailer it is Helena who admits to Leon that she is the one responsible for this incident.
Chris Redfield: The ex-S.T.A.R.S member who continued the fight against bioterrorism as the leader of the BSAA underwent a personal trauma some six months prior to the events depicted in RE6. In spite of this he has rejoined his BSAA colleagues in China to uncover a major bioterrorist attack.
The mysterious third protagonist: We’re still trying to track down his real identity but we do know this man is a mercenary currently engaged in a bloody conflict in Eastern Europe where reports confirm that B.O.W.s are increasingly being used. One day, he’s told that he is the man to save the world. Whilst he doesn’t understand the implications of this, he does immediately think how much money he can make from it.
Ingrid Hunnigan: A member of Field Operations Support (FOS), Ingrid has been working with Leon for a long time, and they share a mutual trust.
Adam Benford: President of the United States and the man who hired Leon after the Raccoon City incident.

We also have learned of two of the main enemy types in the game. First up zombies make a return, but are much more aggressive. They will now run and jump at you as well as being able to carry weapons. The second are known as J’avo which is Serbian for ‘demon’. These monstrosities are much more dangerous as they work in groups and understand speech. They can also regenerate or mutate when they take damage, you will have to be on your toes to handle them.
Finally Capcom has confirmed that RE6 will feature a brand new control scheme that finally allows players to move and shoot at the same time, as well as dodge and roll out of harms way. You can also utilize a cover mechanic taking the game into a whole new world of action-survival horror.
Resident Evil 6 continues to sound more and more awesome as we learn more about it. The game is set to release on November 20th of this year with a demo coming with Dragon’s Dogma this Summer. I cannot wait to get back into the fray this fall.
