Black Ops 2 fans have become enraged, as Activision remove pre-order bonus, Nuketown 2025, from competative multiplayer. Nuketown was one of the most popular maps in the first Black Ops game, and fans were excited to play the revamped version for the sequel.
The map was available upon the games launch, but has since be removed from XP earning playlists. The map is still available if you want to start a custom game, but those types of games don’t earn you any XP. The real sting here is that the map was advertised as a pre-order bonus, which now just feels like a hollow promise to fans.
David Vonderhaar, the game’s design director, took to Twitter to announce the news.
Double XP weekend is officially over. That means Nuketown 2025 24/7 is as well. I know. RIGHT? Don’t kill the messenger.
He did go on to state that it will return for special events, but that is little consolation to those that feel they have been duped by Activision.
