Microsoft Plans to Illuminate

CES is the worlds biggest electronics show, but doesn’t always bring up news regarding games. But one thing that made the show floor this year could possibly change the way we play games forever.

The IllumiRoom is a new device from Microsoft that uses the Kinect camera and a projector to push gaming outside the TV screen. It takes data from the game and projects light around your room to create a more immersive experience.

Our system can change the appearance of the room, induce apparent motion, extend the field of view, and enable entirely new game experiences.

You can check out the video for the IllumiRoom below. Microsoft will announce more details regarding the device at the end of April, but it is possible that this technology could make its way in to the next Xbox.
