A large portion of Konami’s E3 show was spent with Hideo Kojima and the many projects he is working on. While we won’t be seeing anything new out Kojima Productions in the next year, there is a lot for fans to look forward to.

Kojima announced that, in addition to Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D for 3DS, the Playstation 3 and XBox 360 will be getting an HD collection of Metal Gear Solid 2, 3, and Peace Walker. These are not emulations. Rather, they have been remastered for the current generation consoles, complete with trophies and achievements. The Metal Gear Solid HD collection will arrive for both major consoles in November 2011.

Additionally, Kojima shared that a Zone of the Enders HD collection is on its way to Playstation 3 and XBox 360 in 2012.

The centerpiece of the Kojima portion of the presentation was the new “Transfarring” system. Starting with Peace Walker HD, gamers will be able to transfer (transfar?) saves between PS3 and PSP in order to seamlessly bridge the gaming experience between home and on-the-go. Kojima plans to build this system up over the coming years, introducing Transfarring to PS2 titles on the PS3 and NGP and, eventually, simultaneous launches of new games on the two systems. The Zone of the Enders HD Collection also bore the Transfarring logo, hinting at a release of the titles on the NGP.

Finally, while Kojima was unable to share anything about his next big project or even divulge more details about Metal Gear: Rising, he did show off a bit of the new Fox Engine. The purpose in creating their own engine is to take a multi-console approach in the future.

Stay tuned for more news out of E3 2011.
