Thinking of taking a week off work in May to enjoy all of the bloody delights of Rockstars highly anticipated sequel Grand Theft Auto V? Tough you can’t, well not until September 17th anyway; as Rockstar Games have confirmed that the game will be delayed.
Citing that the delay is required in order to produce a game that oozes quality, it will be of little comfort for those wanting to get their hands on the game.
The press release states:
The September release date moves the launch back from its original projected release window of spring 2013 in order to allow additional development time. The biggest, most dynamic and most diverse open world Rockstar Games has yet created, Grand Theft Auto V blends storytelling and gameplay in new ways as players repeatedly jump in and out of the lives of the game’s three lead characters, playing all sides of the game’s interwoven story.
The main worry will now be the fact that the game will likely be released just before one, or possibly two, new console launches (if rumours are to be believed) and that many people will be more excited to get their hands on the new tech. But if there is one game franchise that can overcome such an obstacle, it’s Grand Theft Auto.
