EA Pulling the Plug on Several Online Servers

We have only just cross the threshold of 2013 and already EA are lining up some games for the ‘Online’ chop.

As is the norm for EA, they have decided that some of their older games are taking up valuable space on their servers and will be shutting them down throughout January. This means that after EA have switched off the power, you will now no longer be able to take these games online, so best get working on those hard to get, online only achievements now!

Here is the full list of games, and their shutdown dates:

Jan 3rd
FIFA Manager 11 (PC)

Jan 11th
NHL 11 (PS3, 360)
NCAA Football 11 (PS3, 360)
FIFA 11 (PC, PS3, 360, Wii)
Madden 11 (PS3, 360)
NBA Jam (PS3, 360)
NBA Live 10 (PS3, 360)

Jan 14th
The Sims 2 (PC, Mac)

Jan 19th
Trenches 2 (iOS)

No matter how annoying this may be, this is common practice for EA, stating that the continuation of these games is no longer viable, as players have moved on and updated to one of the newer instalments. You can read EA’s full statement here.
