Dynasty Warriors 8 Announced

Tecmo Koei have today proved that there is life in the old dog yet, by announcing Dynasty Warriors 8.

A franchise that should have died years ago is to get a new sequel, which will be coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 later this year.

This HAS to be as bizarre as it looks. This. Is. Dynasty Warriors!

Featuring old and new faces, the game will be set against some of the greatest battles in Chinese history. It will also feature a new “What if” mode that breaks away from historical accuracy.

Check out the screenshots below.

Dynasty Warriors 8 will be hitting store shelves on July 16th.

i really have to pause it, just to do something exciting, like looking out of the window.

kinda funny all did was give more publicity and probably help sell more games. Instead of telling why it should be dead by now. I disagree that series should have died by now. But it definitely agree its nothing of what it should be by now. DW3 has and til this day been best in series imo and I an sad to admit have played every version out there. Every year its change up outfits slightly adjust maps/weapons and up graphics enough to notice. There is so much potential of the whole idea of DW but instead the creators like Madden series prefer to get by bare minimal.

I like very much DW series I still play DW4, DW6 and 7 until now days…If it’s to die because is the same story, how about FIFA, COD and more other games that are very repetitive…don’t care…if they make a new one I’ll still play to check and enjoy

    the inovations…this what’s gaming is about…

seriously.what is it . with peoples continued dislike about . DW. or even DWG. shure it can get repetitive. and sure it an get slightly boring. but i am one of those people that like repetitive games. the only thing i disliked allot is when they started to change the characters weapons.

I actually really like the dynasty warriors series, I am really into the historical setting and I like messing around with the what if this character was alive. The combat does have a good combo system while yes the combat is repetitive after a while. It is no more repetitive than say walk in room shoot everyone walk in new room shoot everyone in room repeat.

Even more than usual, you mean.

If they start making the stories deeper and go away with the history stuff a little bit, I’m all for it. And make it rated “M”, I want blood in there damn it!
